DROP-IN and
Backup Care
The Cole Academy offers many flexible options, including drop-in and hourly care. Whether you stay home with your child(ren), have a babysitter or nanny, or have your child(ren) enrolled in another preschool for a regular schedule, The Cole Academy can accommodate backup care on a space-available appointment basis for those times you need to tend to errands, your babysitter is unavailable, or the other preschool is closed for holidays and extended breaks. The Cole Academy provides the most open-school days per year with no extended breaks. To set this up as an option, simply APPLY FOR FREE (hourly rate depending on the age is stated on the form), and the campus will coordinate getting your immunization and other necessary records on file for as-needed attendance.
VALUE and
Peace of Mind
Free application. No hidden fees. No extra fundraising pressure. Tuition covers extensive hours of service delivered, making The Cole Academy one of the best values for your investment. Year-round schedule with fewest closed days of any Hawaii preschool — we work when you work. Combined with our safe, secure settings and our nurturing, professional teachers, we strive to provide parents with peace of mind while we develop young minds.
Due to added fees that other preschools charge beyond their core tuition (i.e., extra for morning care, extra for later afternoons), many other programs’ costs far exceed Cole Academy tuition when comparing the cost of full-day care. Here are a handful of comparisons of Cole Academy tuition versus monthly costs of full-day care for children ages 3 to 5 at a range of neighborhood preschools.

- Suspension of activity requirements: Parents temporarily do not have to meet activity requirements to assist families that have lost jobs and are looking for new employment.
- Suspension of subsidy co-payments: Parents may have their family co-payment portion of the subsidy payment waived.
- Ability to hold spots: Families that have kept their child at home during this crisis can still use subsidies to hold their child’s spot until their provider reopens.

Tax Credits and Assistance
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
You may be able to lower your taxes and even get up to several thousand dollars back if you qualify for the EITC. To qualify, you must be working full- or part-time and make less than a certain amount based upon family size. You don’t have to owe any taxes to get the EITC.
Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit
If you have a child under 13 and owe federal income taxes, this tax credit can help cover a portion or all of the taxes you owe if you qualify.
Dependent Care Assistance Programs
Your employer may offer this program, which allows you to have money taken out of your paycheck tax-free and put into a special account to be used for child care tuition reimbursement. The main purpose of this type of program is to lower the amount of taxes you have to pay during the year. However, you can’t claim any money you put into this account for the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (described above).
